Fish Springs, October 2008

Fish Springs, Utah is an oasis in the west desert of Utah. It was once part of a large lake, Lake Bonneville, and now boasts little vegetation except what can thrive in desert and salty soil.

Flora 1 Coral in the middle of the Great Salt Lake desert? This succulent looks a lot like coral and comes in many different colors. It is about the only plant seen on this section of the desert floor.

Canadian Geese Common in Utah... but more shy than on the golf courses in Salt Lake!

Our Camp We always choose the most hospitable places to camp! We are about 3 miles from Fish Springs - nestled close to the mountains seen in the background. The area we camped was part of an old lake bed and is now part of the Great Salt Lake desert.
