Marriage Licenses – The following are the marriage licenses issued since last issue: John Wilkinson to Rhoda Mendenhall of Franklin, Idaho.


25 July 1906 - The Logan Republican

On Monday, the 16th inst. the republican party held a primary meeting at Franklin to elect nine delegates to go to the convention to be held in Malad City, Saturday, the 21st, for the purpose of electing delegates to go to the state convention, which will be held at Pocatello on August 1st. The following persons were named: J.J. Hill, Samuel C. Parkinson, Isaac H. Nash, John Wilkinson, Oscan Hellgren, John Garyman, George T. Marshall, Abe Whitehead, and L.L. Hatch.

CONVENTION AT PRESTON
Republicans Meet and Elect Delegates to State Convention.
PRESTON, Idaho, May 3. - An enthusiastic, hilarious, harmonious Republican county convention, called for the purpose of selecting delegates to go to the state conventions to be held respectively at Wallace, May 12, '08 and Boise, Sept. 11, '08, was held in the I. O. O. F. hall, Preson, Saturday. Convention was called to order at 10 o'clock by Jos. Davis, and the following temporary organization, afterwards made permanent, was perfected: Henry Jones, of St. Johns, chairman, and D.J. Reynolds of Malad, secretary. ommittee on credentials, order of business, resolutions, and nominations, were appointed and recess declared until 2 p.m. Upon reconvening, reports of committees were read and accepted and the following delegates named to the conventions aforementioned: Following are delegates elected at Preston Republican convention last Saturday for the Wallace convention of May 12, '08:....Franklin - I.H. Nash, Abe Whitehead, S.C. Parkinson, Jno. Wilkinson, O.H. Helgren, Geo. McGee.....
Rousing speeches were made by Denmark Jenson, of Mink Creek, Geo. D. Casto, of Preston, O.H. Barber, of American Falls, and Thos. Preston of Weston. I.H. Nash was elected chairman, and A.C. Smith secretary of the county Republican central committee. Malad was named as the place for holding the county convention and time for holding same was left to the central committee, and the convention passed into the labyrinth of the unknown.
