Open Faced Grilled Cheese grilled_cheese.pdf

Source: Jan Long

Ingredients

  • Sliced bread
  • sliced cheese
  • sliced ham (optional)
  • sliced tomato (optional)

Instructions

Simplest version, put cheese on bread and place in oven on broil. Leave oven door open and watch until cheese bubbles.

Variations: Toast bread prior to putting in oven - this allows the center of the bread to remain crisper. Top with a dollop of ranch dressing, tomato and lettuce

Macaroni and Tomato mac_tomato.pdf

Ingredients

  • Wide Egg Noodles
  • 1 (12 ounce) can campbell's Tomato Juice

Instructions

Boil noodles according to instructions. Either microwave or heat tomato juice on stove. Add cooked noodles. Add lots of pepper. Serve

Note: I remember multiple variations with V8 or tomato soup but I adopted Campbell's Tomato Juice and lots of pepper as a simple (and cheap) filling meal in college.
