Miss Vennetta Spencer, a bride of this week, was hostess Saturday afternoon at a trousseau tea at the home of her sister, Mrs. T.W. Muir, 963 Baddley court. Pink and white roses decorated the tea table and the living rooms. Assisting were Miss Viola Peterson, Mrs. Frank Squires, Miss Pearl Snowball, Miss Afton Brown and Miss Mary Spencer. The guests numbered eighty.

LEGION WOMEN TO ENTERTAIN YOUTHS
American Legion auxiliary will give a Christmas party from two to four o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Legion chateau for children of legionnaires and all other ex-service men, whether or not they belong to the Legion.

A Christmas tree with Santa Claus and presents, a program, games and dance, are planned by the committee in charge, with Mrs. L. Wesley Robins, chairman; Mrs. Harold Bramwell, Mrs. George H. Holt, Mrs. L. J. Paine, Mrs. Joseph Soelberg and Mrs. David A. Scott, assisting.

The chateau is beautifully decorated, said Mrs. Florence S. Glines, publicity chairman.

LEGION AUXILIARY ENTERTAINS FOR VETS' CHILDREN
Over a hundred children from families of ex-service men enjoyed the annual Christmas party given Saturday afternoon by the American Legion auxiliary at the Legion chateau. A large Christmas tree held candy, nuts, oranges and gifts for those present and were distributed by Santa Claus in the old Christmas way.

A Christmas program and games added to the holiday festivities and a grand march in which each child carried brightly colored balloons was one of the most popular events of the afternoon. The party finished off with dancing by everyone there. The committee in charge was composed of Mrs. L. Wesley Robbins, chairman, Mrs. Harold Bramwell, Mrs. George H. Holt, Mrs. L. J. Paine, Mrs. Joseph Soelberg, and Mrs. David A. Scott.

AUXILIARY TO VETS ENJOYS BRIDGE AFFAIR
One of the popular social affairs of the week was the Easter bridge tea given by the auxiliary to the American Legion Herman Baker Post No. 9 at the chateau on Saturday afternoon.

The decorative scheme under direction of Mrs. Arthur Woolley was carried out in pink, yellow and white and was developed with an Easter wedding motif. Life-sized white duck figures dressed as bride and bridegroom, a rabbit attired as a minister and bunnies as bridesmaids formed the centerpiece for the tea table which was also adorned with hyacinths in pastel shades. Dogwood blossoms were placed about the hall.

Presiding at the tea table were Mrs. Henry H. Blood, Mrs. Fred M. Abbott, Mrs. Glen Ballinger and Mrs. Alixia Olsen of Henefer. Mrs. Eleanor Neslon, Logan, Mrs. Daisy Crouch, Morgan, Mrs. L. Wesley Robbins, Mrs. Russell D. Rockwell, Mrs. Ernest Balch, Mrs. Marvel Reeve, Mrs. L. J. Paine and Mrs. W. R. Montgomery.

Serving were MIss Kay Huss, Miss Ann Ward, Miss Betty Smeding, Miss Hazel Moore, Miss Eva Jones, Miss Mildred West, Miss Katherine Holmes and Miss Helen Vandenberg.

Ogdenites are sensing a patriotic feeling these days . . . in fact, they are virtually breathing it in the air . . . so enthusiastic are members of the local American Legion, Herman Baker post No. 9, and its auxiliary concerning the twenty second annual convention, department of Utah, to be held here August 15, 16 and 17 at Hotel Ben Lomond. LEGION AUXILIARY HAS FULL CALENDAR FOR THREE-DAY CONVENTION OGDEN - Social activity will be featured at the twenty-second annual convention of the American Legion Auxiliary, department of Utah, in Ogden, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, in connection with the meeting of the America Legion of Utah.
The hostess unit, auxiliary to Herman Baker post No. 9 of Ogden, will have "open house" at the legion chateau Friday and Saturday. Cocktails will be served.
One of the highlights will be the Gold Star mothers' tea at the home of Mrs. Ronald Wadsworth, 2780 Madison avenue, Saturday from 2 until 6 p.m.
The auxiliary delegates and visitors will be guests at the legion banquet Friday evening at the Hotel Ben Lomond, followed by a dance.
Memorial services will be held jointly with the legion Friday at 10 a.m. at the Orpheum theater. A float in the legion parade Saturday at 6:30 p.m. sponsored by the auxiliary, will feature auxiliary activities in the aid of humanity. Boating and a regatta on Pine View lake will be enjoyed at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Much interest centers in the election of state department officers. Nominations will be made Friday, with the election Saturday.
Candidates prominently mentioned for the office of department president are Mrs. Ora Bundy of OGden, chairman of the local committee on arrangements and a past president of the Ogden auxiliary unit, and Mrs. Vern Larsen of Lehi, at present state treasurer of the auxiliary.
The convention will open at 9 a.m. Thursday, with registration of delegates and alternates and visitors at Hotel Ben Lomond.
An executive board meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. A school of instruction will be held at 3:30. The visitors will be guests at a ball game at 8 p.m., followed by open house and a dance at the American Legion chateau.

An open convention session will be held at 9 a.m. Friday. A processional of deparment officers, distinguished guests and past department officers will open the meeting.
Mrs. Ora Bundy will give the address of welcome, with a response by Mrs. Milton Greaves of Castle Dale, first vice president. A report of the rules and organization committee will be given by Mrs. Viola Tanner of Tooele, and of the credentials committee by Mrs. Bennett G. Blair of Logan.
Nomination of officers and a national committee woman will follow.

A Dutch luncheon at the Becker Products company's plant for the legion and auxiliary members will be served at 12:45 p.m. At the afternoon session opening at 2:30 o'clock, the Ogden unit president, Mrs. Harold Bramwell, and distinguished guests including Mrs. Harry Powell Jones of Salt Lake CIty, national committeewoman, will be introduced. Reports of the deparment president, Mrs. L. E. Nelson of Logan, and other department officers; a report of the auditing committee, by Mrs. George H. Hold of Ogden; budget committeee, by Mrs. Allison Bills of Midvale, and committee on constitution and by-laws, will occupty the attention fo the greater part of the session.
Miss Betty Olsen of Tooele will present a prize-winning essay on Americanism.

A past presidents' breakfast will be given at 7 a.m. Saturday. At the Saturday morning session, opening at 9 o'clock, a memorial service for Gold Star Mothers and auxiliary members who have died during the year will be conducted by Mrs. Arthur Woolley of Ogden. Election of officers will be held in the afternoon.

LEGION POST ENTERTAINS GUARD GROUP
OGDEN - Herman Baker post No. 9, American Legion, entertained at the American Legion chateau Thursday evening in honor of veterans of the World war who are members of the national guard, leaving soon for training at San Luis Obispo, Cal. The veterans are Brigadier General A. E. Wilfong, Major Wayne Gudmundson, Major Grant Heninger, Captain Ernest Balch, Captain L. V. Call, Captain F. R. Conroy, Captain Glenn Z. Nielsen, Captain Joseph Soelberg, Captain C. Dixon Kapple, Lieutenant Howard Speecher, Sergeant Harry Collier and Private Marinus Evertsen.

Commander E. R. Ruckner and offices of the post were assisted in receiving by past presidents of the post. Refreshments were served by the American Legion auxiliary, under the direction of Mrs. M. L. Fenstermaker, president. A patriotic idea was carried out in the supper table decorations and the same scheme was used throughout the hall. A musical program was given under the direction of Mrs. Arthur Woolley. Vocal solos were given by Don Bjorklund, baritone, and Miss Charlene Cross, soparno, accompanied by Miss Beverly Jurgins, pianist.

Committees in charge of arrangements, in addition to Mrs. Woolley, were: Decorations, Mrs. Ora Bundy and Mrs. L. J. Paine; refreshments, Mrs. David A. Scott, Mrs. L. Wesley Robbins and Mrs. Carl Olsen. Daughters of the guests of honor and of the post members assisted in serving. About 200 were present.

SPECIAL ACTIVITIES ACCENT CLUB EVENTS OF PAST WEEK
Mrs. Arthur Woolley entertained members of committees of the American Legion auxiliary to Herman Baker post No. 9, who are arranging for an Easter tea, Monday afternoon at her home in Ogden canyon.

A Mexican idea was carried out in the tea table decorations. Cactuses formed a centerpiece and red and black tapers in the Mexican holders were at the end.
The hostess was assisted by her sister, Mrs. Zoan Bean, and Mrs. L. Wesley Robbins. Twenty-one were present.

LEGION AUXILIARY TO GIVE FASHION SHOW
OGDEN - What promises to be an outstanding pre-Easter social event is the American Legion Auxiliary fashion show and bridge tea to be given at the chateau on April 12.
In charge of the event is Mrs. L. Wesley Robbins, as general chairman, assisted by Mrs. Ora Bundy, state auxiliary present, and Mrs. R.L. Rockwell, district president. Other members who will act on committees are: Decorations, Mrs. Arthur Woolley, chairman, Mrs. Zoan Bean and Mrs. Clifford Huss; tickets, Mrs. J.C. Brown, chairman, Mrs. E.E. Carr, Mrs. W. R. LEGION TEA HIGHLIGHT OF SOCIAL WEEK An event that is expected to be especially outstanding among social doings this spring season is the annual Easter Fashion tea given by the American Legion auxiliary April 12 at the Legion chateau. The event will start at one-thirty p.m.

An Easter motif will be carried out in the decorations and it is anticipated that a large number will attend. Mrs. L. Wesley Robbins is general chairman, assisted by Mrs. M. L. Fenstermaker, president of the auxiliary. Mrs. Ora Bundy, state auxiliary president, and Mrs. R. L. Rockwell, district president, will be honored guests. Other members of the auxiliary will act on various committees.

Those who will pour are Mrs. Herbert Maw, Mrs. Clem Schramm, and Mrs. Lexa M. Olsen of Salt Lake City, Mrs. L.W. Nelson of Logan, Mrs. Fred M. Abbott, Mrs. Spencer S. Eccles, Mrs. E. R. Buckner, Mrs. G. L. Becker and Mrs. Alice Collins, all of Ogden.

CHILD EDUCATION GROUP CELEBRATES FOURTH ANNIVERSARY
The Ogden Branch of the American Association of Childhool Education celebrated its fourth birthday anniversary at a dinner party at the English room of Hotel Ben Lomond on Friday evening. About 30 members attended. A large May basket of pink and white flowers centered the table. At the four corners of the basket were tall white princess tapers. Each place was marked with a tiny birthday cake.

Installation of officers was held with a candlelight ceremony. Those installed wre Mrs. Jennie C. Neal, president; Mrs. Lewis Mitchell, vice president; Mrs. L. Wesley Robbins, secretary and treasurer; Miss Elnora Crompton, corresponding secretary; Mrs. Burdett Smith, historian. Board members chosen for the year were Mrs. J. Arnold Felt, Mrs. T. J. Thomas, Mrs. Frank E. Douglas, Miss Erene Chamberlin, and Mrs. W. Lee Skanchy, Committee chairment were Mrs. Ralph B. Sanford, legislature; Miss Dorothy Watts, publicity; Mrs. Verland Stowell, research; Miss Mary Chrd, hospitality; Mrs. Alan Hampton, extension; Mrs. Merlon Stevenson, education; Miss Sarah McCracken, projects and Miss Roma Tueller, nursery.

Musical selections were given by the Price sisters and reports were made by the various committee heads. Those in charge of the dinner were Mrs. DeVere Child, chairman, Mrs. Lewis Mitchell, Miss Sarah Thomas, Miss Venna McCracken, Mrs. T.J. Thomas and Miss Sarah McCracken, retiring president.

FI-WO-CA GROUP HEARS REVIEW AT FRIDAY SESSION
Fi-Wo-Ca Literary club members met at the home of Mrs. Ira Markham Friday afternoon. Mrs. Glen Toone reviewed "Song of Years" by Bess Streeter Aldrich. Special guests were Mrs. B. B. Midgley, Mrs. E. E. Carr and Mrs. Ivan Webb of Payson. Officers elected for the coming year were: President, Mrs. L. Wesley Robbins; vice president, Mrs. Ray Hinchcliff, and secretary-treasurer, Mrs. Glen Toone. The annual tea of the club will be held May 23 at the home of Mrs. Leo Pack.

LEGION AUXILIARY CONDUCTS DINNER PARTY ON TUESDAY
The American Legion auxiliary held a formal dinner in the Spanish room of the Hotel Ben Lomond on Tuesday evening with Mrs. Beulah H. Gavin presiding and acting as toastmistress. Guests of honor included Mrs. Eleanor Nelson, of Logan, national committee woman; Mrs. Ora Bundy of Ogden, retiring department president; Mrs. Melba Bills, of Midvale, department president for the coming year; Mrs. Golda McShane of Salt Lake City, state secretary; Mrs. Ruby Layton, of Layton, district president.
Musical numbers were given by Mrs. S. W. Bacon, accompanied by Mrs. Byron L. Whittemore. Tribute was paid to the retiring distring president, Mrs. R.D. Rockwell for her work during the past year. Mrs. Merlin L. Fenstermaker was presented with a jeweled past president's pin in recognition of her work as unit president for the year. Mrs. Harold Bramwell made the presentation. The new unit president, Mrs. David A. Scott, was presented the roll of membership by the membership chairman, Mrs. L. Wesley Robbins.

At the close of the dinner, the members retired to the hotel drawing room where the installation of officers for the coming year took place, with Mrs. Ruby Layton in charge of the installation. The following officers were installed: Mrs. David A. Scott, unit president; Mrs. L. Wesley Robbins, first vice president; Mrs. Arthur Wooley, second vice prsident; Mrs. Clarence McLatchie, secretary; Mrs. Jack Roush, treasurer; Mrs. Aaron Horne, corresponding secretary; Mrs. Cecil Frew, historian; Mrs. Elmer Buckner, chaplain; and Mrs. B. F. Lane, seargant-at-arms.

Mrs. J. C. Brown of 1134 Twenty-eighth, entertained at luncheon and bridge at her home on Thursday afternoon. This was the first of a series of luncheons to be given by the hostess. Her guest list included Mrs. D. J. Youel, Mrs. Hood Miers, Mrs. Frank Collinga, Mrs. Joseph Stewart Allen, Mrs. Beulah Gavin, Mrs. L. Wesley Robbins, Mrs. Arthur Woolley, Mrs. J. J. Dunbar, Mrs. E.
